A flowery tale

Well?? Have you ever seen the bud of a flower? What a beauty the little thing is......!!

And it is equally soft and sensitive..... Can you ever guess by seeing this petty little thing
that one day it will spread its petals and bloom into such a beauty that it will render us
speechless.....? Its bright hue is like a splash of colour in the land of the green.
They say flowers are arrogant and boastful of their beauty.... I wonder why they will
not be? The flower had to wait for so long to obtain this beauty. It started from being a
seed and then a sapling peeked its head out. Thereafter just like a child who plays with
its soft hands, the sapling now a sprig spreads out its tender branches and plays with
the sun. From there on it began to develop. Its small branches gave way to more
strong branches and spread out here and there. Slowly and gradually it transformed
into a tree. Only then the flower is born. It had awaited a long time to come into this
world. Of course it has every right to be proud! The flower is such an essential
commodity. Without it even the gods and goddesses are not pleased. Without it all
special occasions are incomplete. Sometimes it is even used in medical treatments. Its
beauty is appreciated by everyone.
But wait....! Just because it is beautiful and soft does not mean it is weak. When needed
it can take on an ugly face.... At times it can murder the most intelligent man in the
earth with its deadly poison. Again, it can entice the insects, who plot to harm it, with
its charm and end their lives.
But even after being the possessor of such immense beauty and qualities, it is my
belief that every flower has the secret wish to fall off into the bosom of mother earth.
Through every moment of their small life it yearns to touch the earth..... It only thinks
of flying off with the wind..... wishes to be carried away by the currents of water and
travel to distant places and new lands..... Just like the humans... who after growing up
tends to forget their birthplace and run off to far away lands along with the stream. It
is as if the flowers tend to do this too....
This leads me to contemplate if the flowers have acquired this nature from the humans
or was it like this forever? Well, maybe.....

PHILOSOPHY ABOUT MIRROR BY A HUMAN BEING

The Tale of a Reflector

This is my earnest urge to perceive that ‘A Reflector’ which reflects reflection; does it ever able to look at its very own reflection ?Many years had faded out, Reflector still stands still & summons everybody to have a glimpse of their own reflection. Well….. Does it never aspire to confront its own reflection?

Sometimes, I presume that it is unable to reflect its own reflection. This inability leads it to reflect our reflections dreadfully horrible with the ploy of Psyche, which often frightens us. Again, I conclude it to myself that those reflections by the Reflector are us, ’The Human Being’. As a very Creep category species, we Human usually retain all the virtues coated with self-glorification while dumping the impure qualities on others. Being a person with flesh and blood, I yearned to be the Reflector, I would obscure my reflection to others & only unveiled everyone’s reflection.

Jinx of Triple Talaq

‘Talaq, Talaq, Talaq’ utters the husband and the marriage is broken. Dreams, promises, expectations and bonding all that a marriage is about  made vague by the utterance of this word ‘talaq’ three times and the woman is no longer the wife of her husband. She is thrown out of the house without even been given the proper explanation of why this is happening to her. All Muslim women irrespective of who they are goes through this inhumane emotional turmoil every day. The funny thing is that while going through the holy rituals of matrimony they know full well that a sword of Talaq is hanging over their heads. World’s third largest Muslim population stays in India and over 90 million Muslim women lead their lives threatened by this sudden, oral, and out of court divorce.
The irony is that triple talaq is banned in other countries with majority Muslim population like Pakistan and Indonesia.  Triple Talaq is mention nowhere is Quran and thus it is illegal in Muslim countries. So, the question is why India is taking so long to outlaw this social system which incurs such injustice towards women?
The issue had come into the notice of the authorities in the past two years only after a Muslim organisation, Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan (BMMA), launched a campaign to ban triple talaq and "nikah halala" - a practice where divorced women, in case they want to go back to their first husbands, have to consummate a second marriage.
Muslim women are so mistreated that in a recent case a pregnant woman was thrown out the house for not getting an abortion. The woman said that her husband feared that the third child would also be a daughter and wanted her to abort it. When she wouldn’t listen her in-laws tortured her and finally the husband orally divorced her. Triple had gone to such heights that now the husband divorces the wife only by sending the word Talaq three times through messages and Whatsapp.

Allahadbad High Court has termed 'triple talaq' as unconstitutional and the Supreme Court is yet to decide the issue through a five-judge constitution bench that will begin hearing cases and will decide on the "constitutional validity" of the practice of triple talaq, nikah halala and polygamy among Muslims. However, the All India Muslim Personal Board (AIMPLB) had urged the SC to not to meddle with its personal laws as the issues fell outside the realm of judiciary.

A short film Pre-Cover by Creazione Production

17th July Kolkata, (Creazione Production):  This is not the first time that India & Bangladesh collaborated for making a film; but in the case of short length films people are lesser concerned. Not to be very much commercialized these short talkies can talk about a lotnon-spoken issues.

The personality from young generation, who has gathered several acclamation for his short film

‘Biborton’(Evolution) in many film festivals and as well as filled his hands with some awards known as Md. Arafatur Rahman, basically a Bangladeshi director, living in Kolkata nowadays.

`The Director is now busy in making his upcoming short film ‘Nari’. Its almost 1 and half year gone he has started filming his short film. This short film is mostly shot at the areas of Dhaka, Munsigaunj in Bangladesh& India. Some terribly fatal scenes from this short film will enthrall people from patriarchal society. A strong voice is raised against the women abuse by the short film ‘Nari’, in Bengali language, the name of the short film is written in a very odd way, which allegorically represents a certain meaning to discover.
This short film mainly focuses on the violence against women in the patriarchal society like India. The 9 shades of daily social issues of abusing

women like Rape, Early marriage, Dwarfism, Abortion, Acid attack and many more are portrayed by the well-known actresses from both India & Bangladesh. The Rape scene from this short film is highly motivated by the Nirbhaya Rape case of India. Renowned Artists from India (Kolkata) like Subholina Sen (worked with Director Q), Debalina Roy (lead actress at ‘Chotoder Chobi’) and Debolina Sen and and so on have played the roles of acid-attack victim, dwarf and rape-victim. Film Editing, A Journey- From Manual to Digital

When the first movie was shot by Lumiere Brothers, they said that cinema would not have any future after cinematographie. It’s almost 122 years passed, if they were alive, they might be astonished about the existence and advancements of films.
George Melies, D.W Griffith and Edwin S. Porter are considered to be the pioneers of cinema, who first realized the usefulness of editing in making a film.
Cross cut, double exposure, fade in/out- the three transitions were there at the part of linear editing. After development of technology it allowed people to use non-linear editing with different transitions.
Editing is something that allows people to chain up a story by adding or eliminating shots, in order to complete a film. Just like, in cooking, if marketing of veggies is idea of the film, cutting and washing of the film is shooting then editing is the cooking process of making a film.
There can be several mistakes in production process of film-making, it’s an editor’s responsibility to cut off the mistaken part of the film and makes it watchable for viewers.
According to Alfred Hitchcock a famous film-maker, about editing, ‘Drama is life with dull bits cut out’. Without editing the landmark murder scene from the film ‘Psycho’ by Alfred Hitchcock could not become landmark scene. Only editing made it possible.
The theory of “Montage” by Russian film director Sergei Eisenstein totally depends on editing, where it is said that by adding two different shots into one, creates a different meaning to the audience. Whereas, Pudovkin showed us 5 different editing techniques to give better treatment of the scenes.
Present day editing has reached a level, where with the help of computer technology, one can change/remove even can create background by using Chroma screen as this technology is highly available and inexpensive.
Even modern age technology lets editors allow to use 3D in editing. Not only that, in editing can process editing software permit color correction.

Not only editing adds perfection but also creates a particular meaning of the scenes for the audiences. Without editing no film can survive in present day. So, that’s why editing is compared as an important weapon in film-making.
